Bollywood music composer and singer Sachin Sanghvi was arrested in a complaint alleging sexual assault

Bollywood music composer and singer Sachin Sanghvi was arrested by Santacruz police in Mumbai in late October 2025 following a complaint alleging sexual assault and related offenses by a woman in her 20s. Additional claims include that he pressured her into an abortion when she became pregnant.

The complainant alleges she first connected with Sanghvi in February 2024 via Instagram, where he offered her opportunities in his music projects.

She claims that after meeting in person to discuss work, Sanghvi promised her marriage and a music album chance, and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. Police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on the complaint.

Sachin Sanghvi was taken into custody and produced before a Bandra court. He was subsequently granted bail after his arrest.

Sanghvi’s lawyer has publicly described the allegations as “absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated”, asserting that his detention was improper and that he intends to contest the charges in court.
