commercial market complex on government land demolished

Narender Singh and Ravi illegally constructed a commercial market complex on government land in Badshapur, Gurgaon was demolished by police and Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).

The land had been illegally occupied for over five years by two brothers — Narender Singh (alias Tillu) and his brother Ravi, both residents of Ravidas Mohalla, Badshapur.

Police records show that the duo have multiple criminal cases registered against them dating from 2012 through 2025, including murder, attempted murder, arms offences, rioting, excise violations and organized crime-related charges.

The encroached government land was located opposite a cremation ground (khasra No. 39/24).

They reportedly collected rent and protection money from shopkeepers, generating lakhs of rupees per month from the illegal market.

Badshapur police officials stated that this demolition serves as a strong message against organized crime, land encroachment and criminal profiteering.

The authorities are reportedly compiling details of other properties allegedly acquired through crime to pursue further enforcement actions.
