The Rajasthan government, led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, has frozen the MLA Local Area Development (LAD) fund accounts of three legislators pending an investigation into alleged corruption and bribery.
The three MLAs accused are:
• Rewant Ram Danga (BJP MLA from Khinvsar, Nagaur)
• Anita Jatav (Congress MLA from Hindaun, Karauli)
• Ritu Banawat (Independent MLA from Bayana, Bharatpur)
CM Bhajanlal Sharma described the allegations as “extremely serious and concerning” and reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption.
The Rajasthan BJP has issued a notice to MLA Danga, asking for an explanation within a specified time-frame. The Congress party has also served a notice to MLA Anita Jatav, demanding a report on the matter within seven days.
The inquiry committee has been instructed to submit its findings within 15 days.
Pending the probe’s outcome, no further MLA LAD spending or related approvals will proceed for the accounts that have been frozen.
